Job Description:

This role is responsible for leading the demand creation of Unilever Food Solutions products. With an in depth understanding of the business strategy, the role will take a lead position to directly managed UFS Food Service operators by being the UFS representative to the industry. We increasingly see that our customers want help and inspiration in delivering against the commercial challenges that face the chef today. These range from managing costs, through compliance to government legislation, and deploying initiatives to meet the latest diner trends and insights, all while delivering nutritious food that tastes great. This role is therefore evolving to be closer to the operator and the sales team rather than a traditional culinary career.

Job Responsibility:

  • Culinary thought leadership with a particular focus on the commercial benefit that UFS can deliver either directly or indirectly via our product or value-added services to operators
  • Build, maintain and utilize a broad food service industry network
  • Develop and create world class solution by working closely with key customers and develop solutions (product or service) that add commercial benefit to our key customers
  • Brilliant Sampling Execution and cooking demo via dish concept solution, product usage application and cooking demo
  • Effectively communicate commercial benefit of UFS product i.e. cost benefit, efficiency and additional profit
  • Present with confidence, enthusiasm, deep knowledge and passion, while communicating the commercial rationale of UFS products and services
  • Responsible to create higher demand and ensure 100% acceptance rate onUFS product, dish concept and solutions presented to operator
  • Present automated conversion link, for Distributor Sales Representative for Distributor Trade / Route to Market processing
  • Fully understand and align to business strategy, along with developing the complimentary culinary strategy that will enable the sales team to meet area / regional target i.e. Turnover, Reach and Penetration Target and Go To Market KPIs etc
  • 100% Feet on Street, responsible for creating demand through On Time In Full implementation of product sampling, relevant ideation session and training program that empowers and stretches the UFS Operators
  • Ensure deep understanding of the challenges/pain point that our customers face in their kitchens/operations
  • Increase penetration
  • introduce, improve, and grow usage of UFS SKU per operator, increasing sales orders and demand creation to conversion to usage of UFS ingredients
  • Add value to UFS and our customers by bringing the commercial angle to the industry enabling Chefs to be free to love what they do
  • Proper investment management
  • Manage spend to agreed budgets
  • OTIF submission of reports and 100% utilization of CRM Tools
  • Manage the data/recipes for UFS website, CRM Tools, Recipe Library
  • Support recipe development for selling stories
  • Ensure KPIs are met and participate in idea generation and execution through sales team

Requirements:

  • Chef de Partie with working experience in the same position
  • Education to degree level in Culinary Institute
  • Strong Business Acumen (ability to cost ingredients and menus)
  • Knowledge of food and industry trends
  • Intellectually strong and able to apply strategic thinking to business scenarios
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Good communication and 'people skills'
  • A demonstrable customer focused attitude
  • Resilience and tenacity
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office suite , but also able to demonstrate an ability to understand and utilize other systems i.e. UFS websites, other recipe sites, buying sites etc.
