The Delivery Lead is accountable for predictable, high quality delivery and optimised flow across agile teams, ensuring work progresses safely, transparently, and in alignment with business value. Operating within agile and scaled agile ways of working, the Delivery Lead coaches and enables teams, removes impediments, manages risks and dependencies, and continuously improves delivery practices. Appropriate governance, reporting, and release readiness ensure increments are delivered reliably and compliantly.
Job Responsibility:
Enables effective Agile delivery practices, promoting Agile principles and behaviours that support continuous improvement, team ownership, and predictable delivery outcomes
Facilitates key delivery events and cadences, ensuring planning, review, and improvement activities are purposeful, timeboxed, and focused on delivery outcomes rather than ceremony
Fosters strong team collaboration and communication, creating a transparent, inclusive environment that supports alignment, trust, and effective problem solving
Proactively identifies and removes delivery impediments, working with the Product Owner and relevant stakeholders to resolve blockers, manage risks, and maintain delivery momentum
Monitors delivery performance and flow, tracking progress, predictability, and key delivery metrics to provide insight and support data informed improvement
Enables transparent stakeholder communication, ensuring progress, risks, and delivery outcomes are clearly understood and appropriately communicated
Supports backlog readiness and flow, collaborating with the Product Owner and team to ensure work is well-defined, prioritised, and ready for delivery
Ensures adherence to required Digital delivery procedures, supporting compliance with organisational standards while enabling efficient and effective team delivery
Requirements:
3–5+ years in Agile delivery leadership (Delivery Lead, Scrum Master, Iteration Manager), enabling predictable, transparent delivery across one or more Agile teams
Proven track record improving flow and predictability, using metrics (e.g., throughput, cycle/lead time, forecast accuracy, defects) to drive continuous improvement
Hands-on experience with Agile practices and cadences (Scrum and/or Kanban), including sprint/iteration planning, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement
Demonstrated success coaching teams and stakeholders unfamiliar with Agile, lifting maturity and embedding Agile ways of working at team level and across adjacent functions
Experience partnering with Product Owners on backlog readiness and value based prioritisation
aligning capacity, dependencies, and release plans
Cross-functional collaboration with software engineering, design, QA, and architecture to remove impediments and maintain delivery momentum
Use of delivery and collaboration tooling (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Mural) for planning, tracking, transparency, and reporting
Background in digital/SaaS/technology environments, familiar with modern engineering practices (CI/CD, nonfunctional requirements)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage a wide range of stakeholders and build trusted relationships
Willingness to learn and grow in the Delivery Lead role, proactively seeking feedback and evolving practices
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in delivery leadership
Ideally Scrum Master certified (e.g., PSM, CSM)
