Job Description:

Efficient loading of vehicles and making deliveries to sites and customers. Collecting and/delivering goods to and from other branches. Undertaking various other driving jobs required in relation to the efficient operation of the business. Assisting in the yard area with deliveries and assisting customers where necessary.

Job Responsibility:

Lift materials and load vehicles, adopting safe lifting and handling procedures at all times
Ensure all loads are secure, stable and not hazardous
Ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy and safe. Performing the checks that are included in the standard company procedures
Report any concerns about the safety of your vehicle, or any defect in maintenance or repair to your Branch Manager as and when they occur
Observe strict adherence to the Company’s health and safety procedures, at all times
Ensure that the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times
Accurately completing delivery paper work
Adopt a pro-active approach to increasing sales, by looking out for new sites and developments which could result in new business leads
Serving customers who attend the branch, and offering direct assistance, especially when they are in the yard or stores areas
Monitor the movement of traffic in the yard to ensure that no persons in the yard or in vehicles are in danger of collision or injury
Undertaking any other reasonable request as directed by the immediate Branch or Assistant Manager

Requirements:

Full Driving licence
At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role
Have a clean driving record
Experience in driving a Sprinter/Luton van or similar
Have good customer service skills
Have good verbal communication skills
Ability to take instructions and work under minimal supervision
Ability to work well under pressure
Be thorough and pay attention to detail
Flexible
Be organized in prioritizing workload effectively
Ability to work on own initiative and work as part of a team
