Job Description

NTT DATA is seeking a Senior Delivery Director responsible for delivering large, complex IT programmes or services end-to-end within the Central Government Sector. Accountable for high-risk, high-value digital/IT delivery. Operates across the full product/service lifecycle. Acts as a senior escalation point and leader within delivery teams. The role carries full accountability for end-to-end programme delivery, financial performance, client satisfaction, and strategic growth across portfolios exceeding £50m. You will operate as a trusted advisor to CXO-level stakeholders, ensuring high-quality, predictable delivery while driving commercial value and long-term partnership growth.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead large-scale, complex Government technology portfolios (£30m+) with full accountability for delivery performance, governance, quality, and financial outcomes
  • Oversee multiple concurrent programmes and projects, ensuring alignment to client strategy and contractual commitments
  • Maintain a proactive, “no surprises” delivery culture with strong forecasting, risk management, and transparent stakeholder reporting
  • Build and sustain trusted, senior-level relationships (CXO and Director-level) within Government organisations
  • Achieve high client satisfaction through consistent, high-quality delivery and strategic partnership
  • Act as a senior escalation point, resolving complex commercial, operational, and delivery challenges
  • Own programme financial performance, including budget control, margin management, forecasting, and cost modelling

Requirements

  • Proven track record of leading complex Government sector programmes and portfolios exceeding £50m in value
  • Led large-scale transformation and policy-driven digital services (tax, compliance)
  • Extensive experience engaging and influencing CXO-level stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success managing distributed, multi-supplier, and client-side teams
  • Advanced stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict resolution capabilities
  • Strong commercial acumen, including financial modelling, margin management, and experience across multiple contracting approaches
  • Deep understanding of UK Government procurement and governance frameworks
  • Practical experience with Agile, Scaled Agile, MSP, and hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and risk with a forward-looking, solution-oriented mindset
  • Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC)
