We are currently recruiting full-time Deli Assistants for Tipperary Town Plaza. The Deli Assistant provides ongoing support to the Management Team to ensure every customer receives the best quality, service, and cleanliness each time they visit the store. The purpose of the role is to serve all customer, regardless of what area they visit, in a friendly and welcoming fashion, going the extra mile to meet their needs in a clean and presentable environment. All roles require flexibility in preparing, cooking, serving, cleaning, and ensuring a great visit for every customer every time. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fast-paced “non-stop” environment. Physically demanding at times due to certain requirements of the business with regards to the level of business, quality of staff, and quantity of staff. Teamwork is essential to ensure the procedure runs smoothly in all areas, and communication flows.

Requirements:
Availability: Weekdays and Weekends
Must interact with customers, staff, and management in a friendly and efficient manner
Carry out duties in compliance with training received and standards set in Employee Handbook
Flexibility in preparing, cooking, serving, cleaning
Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner providing exceptional customer care
Communicate with customers effectively and welcomingly
Deal with customer complaints professionally and refer to store manager where appropriate
Ensure products served in line with Food Hygiene Requirements
Maintain knowledge of current deli sales and promotions
Assist customers with queries
Ensure deli area and equipment maintained to required hygiene level
Receive and check stock per company guidelines
Ensure product stored and displayed per food hygiene and merchandising policy
Rotate stock appropriately
Be vigilant to prevent stock loss and waste
Conduct stock takes as instructed
Ensure food hygiene practices complied with per HACCP regulations
Take care of health & safety of self, colleagues, customers
Check temperatures in deli area per HACCP
Maintain HACCP records
Monitor Critical Control Points
Comply with controls around all foods including Fresh and Red Meats
