Job Description

This popular downtown Dallas Law Firm is seeking an experienced Defense Injury Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will provide critical support to attorneys by handling a variety of tasks related to case management, legal documentation, and client interactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation and a proven ability to manage complex cases efficiently while adhering to deadlines.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as subpoenas, affidavits, discovery responses, trial exhibits, and correspondence for attorney review
  • Summarize deposition transcripts and prepare detailed reports for mediation and trial purposes
  • Utilize e-filing systems to ensure timely submission of legal documents
  • Conduct thorough investigations and analyze case files to gather relevant information
  • Organize and maintain case records, both electronically and physically, in compliance with firm protocols
  • Coordinate schedules for attorneys and staff, including hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates
  • Attend client meetings, hearings, mediations, and trials to provide paralegal support
  • Ensure proper file management processes, including indexing, scanning, and record retention
  • Manage case-related billing entries and submit them promptly
  • Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and external parties, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork skills

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal in Defense Injury Litigation
  • Proficiency in drafting and managing litigation documents
  • Familiarity with case management software and e-filing procedures
  • Strong knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Paralegal Certificate required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required
  • Exceptional understanding of all phases of litigation discovery
  • Experience with practice and case management systems (iManage) and timekeeping/billing software
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Adobe software
