We are proud to become a new Australian Department of Defence partner, offering career opportunities to support the delivery of Property and Asset Services across South Australia and the Northern Territory. We have opportunities available for Training Area Range Operators in our Defence division. These are permanent full-time positions based at Robertson Barracks or Kangaroo Flats Training Area, Northern Territory.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinating contractor tasks for TAR (e.g. land care, cleaning, waste, estate upkeep)
  • Planning, deploying, testing and recovering live fire targets with Defence Units
  • Managing TAR gates/flags per approved firing schedules
  • Building and repairing targets using Defence supplies
  • Conducting non-technical inspections and supporting contractor technical checks
  • Maintaining TAR readiness (e.g. weed control, facility upkeep)
  • Operating DART, MTR, SMR & new target systems
  • Managing inventory, stock control & storage

Requirements

  • Experience in planning, placing, testing and recovering range live fire target equipment
  • Ability to operate and maintain various target systems such as DART, MTR, and SMR
  • Experience in inventory control, stock management, and storage maintenance
  • Range Officer Accreditation or relevant safety training
  • Previous experience in the ADF or Defence industry
  • Must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance

Nice to have

  • Experience in planning, placing, testing and recovering range live fire target equipment would be highly desirable
  • Range Officer Accreditation or relevant safety training would be highly regarded
  • Previous experience in the ADF or Defence industry would be highly regarded
