Contract Opportunity: Defect Manager (SC Cleared). Ten10 is one of the UK’s leading independent consultancies specialising in Quality Engineering and Software Testing. We are currently seeking a highly organised and structured Defect Manager for a critical 6-month contract supporting a key client project. This role is heavily focused on defect management within a fast-paced environment, requiring a candidate who can maintain a rigorous approach to tracking, prioritisation, and stakeholder communication.

Job Responsibility

  • Take full accountability for planning, managing, and executing all defect-related activities
  • Lead defect triage meetings, ensuring a disciplined and structured approach to risk prioritisation and mitigation
  • Work confidently within a matrix organisation, managing complex relationships with vendors and third-party delivery partners
  • Drive continuous improvement in defect reporting and resolution workflows
  • Provide clear, data-driven insights into defect trends and project risks to senior leadership

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for SC Clearance
  • Exceptional organisation
  • Proven ability to work in a highly structured way, managing large volumes of data without losing detail
  • Extensive experience in dedicated defect management roles, specifically within large-scale delivery lifecycles
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage expectations and drive accountability across diverse teams
  • A strong background in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Prior experience in a consultancy environment is highly desirable
