Job Description:

Responsibilities include performing field deep foundation testing including high-strain dynamic load testing using PDA (PDA), cross-hole sonic logging (CSL), thermal integrity profiling (TIP), pile integrity testing (PIT), and static load testing, and performing analyses and developing technical reports under a licensed professional engineer’s supervision. Assist preparing proposals and manage assigned deep foundation testing projects and clients. Projects may span transportation, commercial, public works, communications, energy and industrial sectors.

Job Responsibility:

  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects
  • Participate in pre-task planning and promptly report safety concerns to management
  • Demonstrate strong quality practices and attention to detail across all project tasks
  • Ensure consistent quality in both proposal development and project execution
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, and other project related documents
  • Conduct, coordinate or supervise field testing and data analysis
  • Perform high-strain dynamic testing of driven piles and drilled shafts using a Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) and CAPWAP software
  • Perform wave equation analyses using GRLWEAP software
  • Conduct Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL), Thermal Integrity Profiling (TIP) and Low-Strain Integrity Testing (PIT) of drilled shafts and similar foundations
  • Conduct conventional static load testing of deep foundation systems
  • Interacts with clients and internal teams to develop scopes of services and communicate project progress
  • Work under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer and a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or other related field (required)
  • PDCA PDA certificate intermediate level or higher (preferred)
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification (required)
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
  • Preferred experience in deep foundation testing or geotechnical engineering

Nice to have:

  • PDCA PDA certificate intermediate level or higher
