Job Description

This role sits within the Gears Cell, supporting the finishing and quality preparation of precision-engineered components. You will be responsible for deburring and fettling machined gear components to aerospace standards, ensuring all parts meet strict quality and safety requirements. The environment is fast-paced, highly regulated, and focused on precision and consistency.

Job Responsibility

  • Deburring and finishing of machined gear components using hand tools and equipment
  • Removing sharp edges, burrs, and surface imperfections to required standards
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Carrying out visual inspections to ensure quality compliance
  • Working to tight tolerances within aerospace specifications
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Supporting continuous improvement within the cell

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering or Manufacturing
  • Previous experience in deburring, fettling, or finishing precision components
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or aerospace environment

Nice to have

  • Experience working within a gears or precision machining cell
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards
