Debate Institute Resident Staff

• Monitor and supervise students in the residence halls to ensure compliance with institute rules, schedules, and behavioral expectations
• Conduct regular room and hallway checks to ensure student rooms and shared spaces are clean, organized, and well-maintained
• Enforce curfew and behavioral policies
• document and report any violations or concerns to institute leadership
• Act as a liaison between the institute and parents/guardians, providing updates or addressing concerns regarding student welfare or dorm-related issues
• Distribute student mail and packages, assist with organizing mealtimes, and coordinate student movements to and from dorm-related activities

• Prior experience coaching/competing in high school or college level academic debate
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm, responsible, and proactive in supervising students and responding to their needs
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proven driving ability with good driving record
• High School Diploma or GED

Prior experience working with high school students in a residential, educational, or camp setting is strongly preferred.
