The Solution Architect applies deep 401(k) (Defined Contribution) and benefits admin expertise and an understanding of client priorities to create compelling solutions that bring our value proposition to life and increase our win and renewal rate. The Solution Architect is client-facing and partners with Sales Executives (SEs) and Account Executives through all stages of the sales process – from discovery and introductory meetings to RFPs, finalist meetings, contracting and hand-off to the implementation team. In addition, the Solution Architect is responsible for staying current on competitors, Defined Contribution trends, compliance developments and Alight capabilities. Solution Architects are also an important source of market feedback – working closely with Alight product owners to inform our roadmap.
Job Responsibility
Maintain expertise in Defined Contribution admin as well as working knowledge of other Alight capabilities
Articulate and communicate Defined Contribution value proposition and key differentiators
Collaborate with Delivery Leaders to stay connected to operations and delivery practices and share market insights
Keeps Sale Executives current on Defined Contribution solutions, trends, and legislative and industry changes
Assist SEs in the development of prospect sales strategy
Perform discovery and scoping
Work with SE and Business leaders to develop scope of solution and determine platform
Provide input to strategic questions related to defining the opportunity
Complete solution workbook and coordinate with Finance and SE on deal model
Tailor materials and demo based on solution, client need and competitive landscape
Play a lead role in sales meetings, with ability to engage client experts and leaders at the prospect
Lead effective solution demos
Review, update, and provide input on RFP responses after initial draft is provided by the proposal team
Create responses for Defined Contribution-related RFP questions where needed
Update scope-related RFP response documents to ensure they match the deal model
Create client-specific Service Schedule
Own Defined Contribution-related follow ups
Assist with periodic review of RFP library content
Provide input to product owners
Coordinate with business leaders and product owners on scope items that may require special development or staffing
Coordinate with product owners to ensure that latest solution developments are reflected in sales materials and assist with building SA expertise in these areas
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of relevant experience in Defined Contribution administration
Deep knowledge of Defined Contribution admin and delivery models, strategies, the capabilities of administration platforms, and compliance considerations
Agility and organizational skills to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple concurrent opportunities
Excellent client communication and consulting skills – able to lead engaging conversations, adapt on the fly and have a point-of-view
Proven experience in building and developing senior client relationships
Experience in promoting a team environment
Flexibility to travel (sometimes on short notice) to support meetings with prospects
Nice to have
Knowledge of Defined Benefit admin is a plus
Benefits administration and sales knowledge preferred
