About the Company Our client is a well-established wholesale distribution business with a broad portfolio of consumer brands. The business is investing in its NZ presence and is looking for a strong operations leader to take ownership of the DC. The Role Reporting to and working with senior management, you will take full ownership of the Auckland DC – the team, processes and systems. The DC operates across a high SKU count and multiple brands, and you will be responsible for writing SOPs, building team capability and embedding new system functions. Key Responsibilities Lead all day-to-day DC operations across inbound, outbound, inventory and fulfilment Write SOPs and embed processes across both shifts Manage and develop Team Leaders and the wider DC team Oversee WMS usage and contribute to ongoing system implementation and optimisation Manage de-vanning of inbound containers on site Manage transport and labour hire partner relationships Full P&L accountability for labour and Opex (packaging, pallets and consumable spend) Drive continuous improvement and maintain a strong safety culture across the DC Key Skills & Experience Required 5+ years in a high-volume, multi-brand distribution or 3PL environment Proven experience leading end-to-end DC operations Demonstrated ability to build process and culture in a new or evolving site Strong WMS/ERP experience; prior implementation exposure a distinct advantage Experience with labour management, transport supplier relationships, and labour hire Commercially literate with P&L accountability in a DC context Strong people leader with proven performance management and team development capability Relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain, logistics, or business preferred but not essential Comfortable working alongside the team on the floor — this is a hands-on leadership role, not a desk-based one What’s in it for you This is a rare opportunity to take genuine ownership of a DC at a meaningful point in the business’s NZ growth story.
