Job Description

As the DC Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day performance of our Distribution Centre, ensuring safe, efficient, accurate and cost-effective operations. You will lead frontline teams, optimise labour and automation performance, and drive continuous improvement across all warehouse functions. This role is critical to delivering exceptional service to our retail network and supporting the Head of DC Operations in achieving all safety, quality, productivity and financial targets.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage daily inbound, outbound, replenishment and picking activities
  • Monitor materials handling systems and workforce utilisation
  • Enforce SOPs, H&S requirements and Sigma's Supplier Compliance Standards
  • Maintain disciplined stock handling and support cyclic counts
  • Monitor KPIs, manage cost centres and support budgeting
  • Lead initiatives to enhance workflows, automation and productivity
  • Coach, develop and empower Team Leaders and operational staff
  • Work closely with supply chain, transport, inventory and retail teams

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in operations, supply chain, logistics or similar
  • Proven experience managing teams in a high-volume distribution centre
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, stock accuracy and warehouse processes
  • Experience delivering Health & Safety initiatives
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong financial acumen and KPI-driven decision-making
  • A leadership style that reflects Sigma's values — customer-obsessed, resilient, honest and results-focused
