Job Description

Lead warehouse operations to meet safety, service, productivity, and stock targets while driving team performance and exceeding KPIs with key stakeholders. Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager, the DC Operations Manager will lead warehouse operations to achieve safety, service, productivity, and stock integrity targets. This role provides strong direction and leadership to the Distribution Centre Operations Management Team while collaborating closely with GPC Asia Pacific key stakeholders to ensure and exceed KPI commitments.

Job Responsibility

  • Demonstrating outstanding safety leadership, ensuring the safety of all team members, contractors and visitors
  • Oversee the efficient execution of the warehouse labour resourcing plan through the warehouse operations management and team members
  • Identify operational efficiency opportunities, develop and implement strategies for the resolution of problems whilst maintaining effective performance and productivity
  • Deliver Customer Service in line with service level agreements in place - proactively engage with customer to understand business needs
  • Ensure budget targets are achieved and understand daily, weekly, monthly commercial analytical reports are understood and used to form decisions for forward planning
  • Delivery of the people strategy including generating a positive culture through engaging the team, participating in recognition & celebration initiatives as part of Senior leadership team
  • People Leadership and Coaching, ensuring development plans in place for direct reports to support their career pathways & ongoing learning
  • Provide leadership and ensure that all contractual obligations are as a minimum requirement delivered to standard as minimum or exceeded beyond agreed standards
  • Adhering to our four principles of warehousing which include Safety, Service, Productivity and Stock Integrity

Requirements

  • Degree in Logistics, Management, or equivalent significant relevant experience
  • Proven experience in warehouse and logistical operations
  • Extensive experience managing large warehouse teams (50+ staff) while maintaining safety, service, productivity, and stock integrity standards
  • Strong knowledge and focus on Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) legislation, standards, and best practices
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and strong interpersonal communication
  • Proficient in using warehouse management systems
  • Solid computer literacy, numeracy, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report interpretation
  • Strong ability to prioritise, manage, and delegate tasks effectively
  • Self-motivated and well-organised
  • Skilled in conceptualising operational processes and workflows with a focus on cost reduction and service improvement
  • Experience managing large and possibly unionised workforces
  • Ability to develop and manage cultural and safety development programs
