Designs, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for electrical/electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs. Assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.
Job Responsibility:
Lead project in dc-dc system board power design, testing, technical issue management with other electrical hardware for both internal and outsourced development partners that are responsible for all stages of electrical hardware design and development for complex products, solutions, and platforms, including design, bench validation, tooling and testing
Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards
provides tangible feedback to improve product quality
Main focus being single-phase, multi-phase DC-DC converters, hot-swap circuity protection, monitoring, and reporting circuits. Work with solution suppliers to identify, implement, test and sustain power solutions
Review and respond to supplier's specification deviation requests. Specify, identify, test and qualify alternate components. Work closely with system HW design and test teams in implementing and validating successful power solutions
Analyze failures, provide solutions, and work with ODMs, Suppliers and System teams for implementing power solutions
Testing and qualifying power components as power semiconductors, and other passive components
Provide mentoring and guidance to peers and juniors. Acts as subject matter expert in providing direction and guidance to process improvements and policy matters
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
Typically > 6 years experience
Using electrical design tools and software packages. Intel VRTT tool, AMD SDLE tool, and other software tool as Cadence Allegro, Python, or SIMPLIS simulation are preferred
Knowledge of analog and digital controllers and circuits Knowledge of semiconductor devices and processes, Magnetics, Passive components
Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at the engineering levels
