The DBA & System Administrator (FIS AF Ambit) is a platform-critical role within the APAC Financial Services IT landscape. The role is responsible for ensuring availability, security, audit readiness, and operational resilience of mission-critical financial systems. This position supports FIS Asset Finance (Ambit), CNH in-house .NET applications, and reporting platforms, operating in a regulated financial services environment. The role is primarily operational and compliance-driven, acting as the application-level database owner and system administrator for FIS AF Ambit, with clear accountability for production stability across APAC while coordinating infrastructure execution with CloudOps teams.
Job Responsibility:
Own end-to-end application DB administration for APAC Financial Services platforms including FIS AF Ambit, .NET applications, and reporting systems, with accountability for availability, performance, security, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance, while coordinating infra-level activities with CloudOps teams
Perform System Administration for FIS Asset Finance, including application services management, certificate coordination, and controlled environment operations
Execute and validate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial processing
Perform production DB backups before and after critical financial closures and manage backup retention in line with ICT and audit requirements
Manage production-to-non-production DB refreshes, including decrypted and depersonalized datasets for testing, reporting, and vendor support
Execute scheduled and audit-driven DB restorations within defined regulatory and business cut-off windows
Create and maintain database objects such as tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures
Enable, manage, and troubleshoot advanced database features such as Change Data Capture (CDC) in support of reporting and analytics use cases
Perform database performance tuning, indexing strategies, capacity planning, and HA/DR configuration in coordination with CloudOps
Track, analyze, and drive remediation of DB, application, and server-related vulnerabilities across Production and Non-Production environments
Coordinate vulnerability remediation activities with CloudOps, Microsoft, application vendors, and internal cybersecurity teams
Maintain audit evidences for all operational and administrative activities in accordance with ICT and SOX controls
Support SOX, internal, and external audit programs by providing access revalidation, backup proofs, restoration evidence, and vulnerability reports
Manage DB security including logins, roles, permissions, encryption (TDE, SSL), and segregation of duties (SoD)
Participate in audit reviews and respond to auditor queries within agreed timelines
Own TLS certificate lifecycle activities for supported applications, including monitoring expiry, coordinating renewals, installation validation, and testing
Coordinate identity and authentication-related activities involving SAML, ADFS, and associated dependencies
Authorize and coordinate VM-level operational activities (reboots, DNS changes, patching,..) with CloudOps teams
Coordinate planned outages, upgrades, and maintenance windows with infra and business stakeholders
Administer Azure SQL DB, Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs from an application DBA perspective
Configure and monitor Azure Monitor, alerts, diagnostics, and Log Analytics for DB platforms
Support Azure DB cost optimization, scaling, and performance tuning activities
Act as primary escalation point for P1/P2 production incidents related to DBs, application services, and batch processing
Troubleshoot performance, availability, deadlock, blocking, and connectivity issues
Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions in collaboration with app. & infra teams
Support application teams during releases, deployments, and hotfix activities
Execute recurring operational data uploads
Requirements:
+8 years of enterprise experience as an Application DBA and System Administrator in regulated financial services environments
Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server including backup & restore, HA/DR, performance tuning, and security
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure SQL, Managed Instance, SQL on VM, monitoring and diagnostics)
Microsoft Azure certification (AZ-900, DP-300 or equivalent)
Hands-on scripting and automation skills using T-SQL, PowerShell, and Azure-native tooling
Experience working with Financial Services platforms (FIS Asset Finance Ambit is a plus)
Strong understanding of SOX controls, audit requirements, and compliance obligations
Proven ability to work effectively with global, on-shore / off-shore teams and third-party vendors

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Microsoft Azure certification (AZ-900, DP-300 or equivalent)
