We are looking for a Dayshift Auto Electrician to join our busy Engineering Department! This is a permanent role for a fully qualified Auto Electrician or Vehicle Technician with a strong electrical bias. You will be working a 4 day week dayshift, 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday, rotating.
Job Responsibility:
Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on various makes and models of PSV’s to Lothian & DVSA standards
Diagnose and rectify all types of electrical faults
Carry out company approved modifications and campaigns
Use diagnostic equipment and software to locate, diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical and electrical components
Liaise with the parts department to obtain correct parts
Ensure health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
Ensure all paperwork and inspection sheets are completed in a timely manner
Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses as required
Requirements:
Full UK driving licence
Time served Auto Electrician or Vehicle Technician with a strong background in electrical diagnostics
Experience in reading wiring schematics
Ability to obtain a PCV licence whilst in employment
Aptitude to develop others within the engineering team
Ability to work under pressure and work as part of a team
Flexible approach to working hours
Nice to have:
PCV licence
Experience of working in the truck or bus industry
Experience with Volvo OEM diagnostic tools and information platforms
