Job Description:

Day labourers are an essential part of the Lamontagne team! They perform a variety of tasks every day to ensure that the chocolates we produce are ready to ship. They work with other day labourers and operators at different production stations and rotate through every piece of equipment in the factory. Day labourers are responsible for anything and everything that has to do with packaging—from the empty boxes that arrive on the conveyor belt to the full boxes that are sealed, labelled, and stacked on a pallet. Our day labourers share in the satisfaction of making premium chocolate!

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform a variety of tasks to ensure chocolates are ready to ship
  • Work with other day labourers and operators at different production stations
  • Rotate through every piece of equipment in the factory
  • Responsible for anything and everything that has to do with packaging—from the empty boxes that arrive on the conveyor belt to the full boxes that are sealed, labelled, and stacked on a pallet
  • Check the schedule to see which department you’re assigned to
  • Check the conformity and quality of the products being made
  • Prepare the work environment for ultimate efficiency
  • Assemble boxes and bags and make sure that all the necessary equipment is in place and ready to package the products
  • Conduct visual inspections to make sure quality standards are being met
  • Communicate observations to the operator
  • Help tidy up your work area at the end of the day
