Job Description:

Paragon Home Healthcare is seeking a day carer to support a young gentleman with a spinal cord injury following discharge from specialist rehabilitation. This placement focuses on supporting rehabilitation goals, building independence, and maintaining a structured daily routine in the client’s own home. This is a day-shift position, supporting the client during the initial transition period from hospital to home.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist with washing, dressing, showering, and personal care
  • Support bowel and bladder routines in line with care guidance
  • Assist with safe transfers and wheelchair-based mobility
  • Support daily rehabilitation exercises as directed by therapy teams
  • Prepare balanced meals to support recovery and wellbeing
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, well-organised home
  • Encourage independence and follow a calm, structured routine
  • Observe and record wellbeing and ensure safety
  • Observe and record the client’s health status
  • Assist with activities of daily living
  • Maintain a safe and clean living environment
  • Ensure confidentiality
  • Support medication routines (client self-administers)
  • Arrange transportation for appointments when needed
