Job Description:

Prime Life are on the lookout for passionate and dedicated care professionals to join our friendly team as a Day Care Assistant, on a full time basis. At present, we have several vacancies available and are keen to meet with candidates as soon as possible for interviews. This role will be based at Birch Green, in Skelmsersdale.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assisting residents with personal hygiene and choosing an outfit
  • supporting residents to dine and maintain nutrition and hydration
  • encouraging residents to mobilise safely with mobility aids and specialist equipment
  • providing friendship and companionship and accompanying residents on social outings or appointments
  • maintaining accurate and timely written records
  • being part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • welcoming family members and assisting with enquiries

Requirements:

  • genuine caring nature
  • desire to make a real difference for our residents
  • patient, understanding and respectful of resident’s individual abilities

Nice to have:

  • prior experience as a Care Assistant or Support worker
  • understanding of dementia

  • Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting clients when required, with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing and all other aspects of daily living
  • Assist clients in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual)
  • Provide attention when needed, whilst ensuring clients retain their comfort and dignity
  • Pay particular attention to assisting clients who have limited mobility, or physical / learning difficulties, making the best use of aids provided
  • Closely monitor clients who may be confused and/or who have behavioural problems
  • Assist in the promotion of continence
  • Assist in the delivery of care for clients who are dying or who have a progressive illness. Assist with last offices
  • Observe care planning needs for clients and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Assist in a framework of social activities by interacting with clients and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the care home
  • Answer nurse call system, giving assistance as required. Answer the door and telephone appropriately. Respond accordingly and pass on messages promptly
