Job Description

A leading global financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Database Engineer to join a high‑impact technology team supporting large‑scale investment and fund operations. This role suits someone who is hands‑on, detail‑driven, and comfortable working with complex Oracle‑centric systems in a regulated, enterprise environment. Contract / 11 months. Hybrid / Dublin. Stamp 4 / EU Passport required.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, develop and optimise Oracle SQL & PL/SQL solutions
  • Perform SQL performance tuning and complex data analysis
  • Contribute to both real-time and batch data processing systems
  • Assess and improve existing large-scale PL/SQL applications
  • Collaborate closely with application and architecture teams
  • Work within distributed, international delivery teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Oracle SQL & PL/SQL development
  • Strong experience with data modelling and relational database design
  • Proven background in SQL performance tuning
  • Experience across RDBMS, data warehouse, ODS environments
  • ETL and data movement experience (Informatica preferred)
  • Exposure to job scheduling tools (e.g. Control-M)
  • Comfortable working in UNIX/Linux environments
  • Familiarity with source control systems
  • Practical use of GenAI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot or similar)

Nice to have

  • Oracle certification
  • Experience in financial systems (funds or investment operations a plus)
  • Exposure to CI/CD or continuous integration
  • Experience working in Agile delivery teams
