Database Developer

• Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand data needs, clarify priorities, and deliver practical database solutions that support daily operations
• Act as a go-to resource for Microsoft SQL Server guidance, offering technical insight and recommendations to improve database-related processes and outcomes
• Build and refine complex queries and reporting logic to provide accurate data for recurring reports, ad hoc requests, and business analysis
• Investigate data discrepancies across workflows, validate results, and resolve issues that affect reporting accuracy and operational decision-making
• Develop, test, and maintain stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and other database objects to support scalable and efficient applications
• Improve existing database code through tuning, refactoring, and indexing strategies that enhance speed, stability, and long-term maintainability
• Troubleshoot locking, blocking, deadlocks, and other SQL Server performance issues using execution plan analysis and resource monitoring
• Participate in Agile team activities such as sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog review, and retrospectives while contributing to documentation and coding standards

• At least 5 years of hands-on database administration or database development experience, including 3 or more years working with Microsoft SQL Server
• Strong SQL expertise with the ability to create and optimize complex queries, stored procedures, common table expressions, window functions, and dynamic SQL
• Experience supporting advanced reporting and data extraction needs for business users, analytics teams, or operational stakeholders
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve data integrity issues, query inefficiencies, and overall database performance challenges
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum delivery environments and experience using collaboration or work tracking tools such as Jira
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SSRS and experience developing solutions that support reporting and database-driven applications
