Job Description

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a dynamic, skilled and motivated Database and Observability tools Specialist (m/f) to join our 'Database and Hosting tools' team based in Toulouse, France. You will be part of a PSL (Product & Service Line) within the Digital Infrastructure organisation which is in charge of designing, building and operating the Hosting infrastructure of the company. You will join an international team focused on implementing and operating Database, Observability, Automation, and Orchestration solutions. Especifically, as part of the 'Database and Hosting Tools' team, you will participate in every stage of the Database lifecycle. You will be responsible for delivering efficient, automated, and up-to-date Database solutions to our internal customers. Knowledge about monitoring solutions and observability products would be desired.

Job Responsibility

  • Monitor the performance of our externalized run supplier, in conjunction with contract management (SLAs follow-up, invoices control, security patching level, incident/problem management, availability and performance of database service, automation of workloads and database workflows...)
  • Identify, troubleshoot and lead the implementation of corrective actions, in case of supplier performance gap, for infrastructure and database related issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal impact on production systems
  • Participation in the definition of DRPs, backup policies, restore procedures
  • Collaborate with Architecture and Applications teams to understand business requirements
  • Support the design of our products standards to meet the customer needs while targeting the highest possible value for money
  • Ensure building and implementing projects in the 'Database and Hosting tools' domain.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Database engineer or similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator, Database Developer, or Database Specialist
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one major relational database system (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of monitoring solutions and observability products (e.g. Checkmk, BMC Discovery...)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Languages: advanced level English and negotiation level French
  • This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities
  • The candidate must possess French nationality in accordance with IGI 1300 of August 9, 2021 (§1.2.2.1).

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, ) is a plus
  • Knowledge of automation of database tasks is a plus
