Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Database Analyst to support and optimize legacy database systems while facilitating data migration to modern platforms. This long-term contract position in Greenville, South Carolina, offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the modernization of manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring data integrity and system efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain and update legacy database systems to ensure data accuracy and accessibility
  • Develop and implement strategies for migrating data from older systems to modern platforms, including data mapping and transformation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize critical datasets for migration
  • Integrate and support third party systems with existing databases
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues and propose solutions to enhance performance and reliability
  • Partner with development, QA, and DevOps teams to optimize databases for application usage
  • Monitor database performance and proactively address any technical challenges
  • Document workflows, data structures, and migration processes to ensure knowledge transfer and system clarity
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and safeguard sensitive data during migration efforts

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with legacy database systems and programming languages
  • Proficiency in modern database technologies such as Oracle and SQL
  • Hands-on experience with data migration tools and processes
  • Solid understanding of automated testing, quality assurance practices, and CI/CD workflows
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to optimize database performance
  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel, pivot tables, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Certification in database management systems or familiarity with cloud platforms is preferred
