Database Administrator

• Ensure data consistency, clarity, and accessibility across the database
• Monitor user access and security, and manage permissions
• Optimise performance and manage parameters for fast responses
• Design, refine, and implement database models (conceptual, logical, and physical)
• Install and test new DBMS versions
• Maintain data standards and compliance with GDPR
• Develop and test backup and recovery plans
• Carry out capacity planning and manage storage/archiving procedures
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure database integrity and security
• Manage data environments, including cluster configuration and performance monitoring
• Support integration between data sources and Databricks
• Oversee release management for data platform changes

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Familiarity with data manipulation languages and database design principles
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Organisational skills, flexibility, and adaptability
• Understanding of GDPR and data protection legislation
• Experience with Azure SQL databases and Databricks environment management (highly desirable)
