Job Description

The Database Administrator (DBA) IV will design, implement, and manage secure, reliable, and high-performing database systems that power our SaaS products. This senior-level role will collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and IT teams to ensure database scalability, availability, and compliance with organizational and industry standards. The DBA IV will provide leadership in database development and operations, mentor junior DBAs and engineers, and drive continuous improvement in database performance and automation.

Job Responsibility

  • Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
  • Ensure SQL queries are optimized and scalable in production environments
  • Develop ETL processes using Azure ADF and other tools to automate routine tasks and administrative workflows
  • Create automation scripts for building and managing non-prod and prod environments in Azure
  • Bring technical leadership and AI tools and capabilities advocacy to an engineering team
  • Maintain accurate indexing, archiving, reporting, and automation
  • Troubleshoot complex database related issues while ensuring integrity and availability
  • Leads production support and manage incidents while ensuring SLAs
  • Enforce SQL coding standards and best practices across the DBA team
  • Ensure CI/CD pipelines are reliable and fully functional in all environments, including Azure and manage database development life cycle
  • Monitor database operations and performance using native and third-party tools
  • Mentor fellow DBAs and software engineers, providing technical guidance and support
  • Leads complex database and infrastructure upgrades and integrations and streamline processes and develop automations
  • Implement and maintain database security measures, including encryption, data masking, and secure backups
  • Ensures compliance with data governance standards
  • Work closely with IT, DevOps, and Cloud teams to support infrastructure enhancements and maintenance
  • Participate in performance reporting, record key metrics, and perform trend analysis for growth and capacity planning
  • Document code, data flows, processes, and changes to support knowledge sharing and compliance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by enhancing performance, functionality, and operational efficiency
  • Participate in scheduled rotations that involve after-hours tasks and support
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in database administration or a related role
  • Proficiency in T-SQL and PL/pgSQL for writing queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
  • Experience with cloud technologies (Azure required, AWS preferred)
  • Proven expertise in production monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization
  • Proven experience and track record in managing and resolving database incidents
  • Strong experience with SQL Server Iaas, Azure SQL databases and PostgreSQL in large-scale environments
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting to automate database and infrastructure tasks
  • Skilled in Azure DevOps and SSDT Database projects
  • Track record of using AI-powered data management tools
  • Hands-on experience with the full software development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Background in B2B product development
