Job Description

An EKU Database Administrator II leads the management of university data by developing and maintaining expert knowledge of EKU software. Provides maintenance of databases and software products to keep software/databases up to date, to meet regulatory issues and maintain systems for end user. Leads troubleshooting and provides guidance to the EKU community on IT system involving EKU data.

Job Responsibility

  • Installing Applications Software/database/web server Upgrades
  • Analyze databases and provide performance tuning as needed
  • Provide maintenance for system utilities
  • Providing customer Service
  • Providing database and application backup and recovery
  • Provide advanced DBA expertise and support to other DBA staff, programmers and University community
  • Create test databases
  • Other Duties As Assigned by Director

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree Required
  • 5 years of professional experience
  • Relational database experience
  • Solid background in Programming concepts
