The Database Administrator 2 (DBA 2) provides support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of database systems. Manages database infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to database systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all database servers and associated storage/network devices. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of database-related issues. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Configures and manages database platforms (e.g., MS SQL, SQL Server), installs/loads database software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures database components along with implementing enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Job Responsibility:
Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of database systems
Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of database problems
Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of database systems
Provide assistance to users in accessing and using database systems
Provide support to database systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all database servers, storage, and related devices
Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
Optimize database operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
Provide in-depth experience in troubleshooting database systems
Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems related to database infrastructure and remain involved in the resolution process
Configure and manage database platforms and install/load database software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of, and configure database components, along with implementing enhancements to improve reliability and performance
Requirements:
Ten (10) years' experience as a Database Administrator (or System Administrator with database responsibilities) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
Five (5) years of additional database administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants
DOD 8570 Certification
This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
