Job Description

Database Admin position in Montreal, QC - Hybrid. Looking for an experienced DB2 LUW DBA.

Job Responsibility

  • Install, upgrade, and manage database
  • Manage database access and adhere to best practices
  • Improve database performance and operational excellence
  • Troubleshoot database-related application performance issues and recommend solutions
  • Handle Replication operation issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot live issues
  • Communicate with and update management on systems health
  • Maintenance of Database Servers in a development/testing environment

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a DB2 LUW DBA or in a similar role
  • Hands-on experience in supporting DB2 Databases/replication, upgrades & performance tuning knowledge
  • Detailed knowledge of DB2 server installations on standalone/DPF/HADR
  • Experience with Database Migrations using Dump/Load, Inplace Upgrade
  • Experience with Replication setup including table level/Warm Standby/MSA and tuning
  • Knowledge on Database Maintenance tasks such as Dbcc, Reorg
  • Ability to create/modify automation for repeating database tasks
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation and 24x7 supporting and troubleshooting database issues during Weekday and Weekends
