Job Description

Carex is partnering with a financial services industry partner to hire a Data Strategist. This role will focus on driving enterprise data strategy across key business domains including Finance, Claims, Wealth, Program Business, and related areas. The Data Strategist will serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders, translating complex business challenges into scalable, data-driven capabilities that support enterprise objectives and long-term growth.

Job Responsibility

  • Collaborate closely with business leaders and stakeholders to identify data needs, assess business impact, and define measurable outcomes
  • Define and maintain enterprise data capability strategies and roadmaps across multiple business domains
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders by translating complex data relationships and models into business-friendly concepts and artifacts
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to align enterprise data strategy with organizational goals and priorities
  • Adapt data strategies to evolving business, technology, and regulatory environments
  • Work with data consultants and business partners to define, scope, and prioritize large-scale data initiatives and capabilities
  • Facilitate workshops and act as a liaison between business stakeholders, architecture teams, and data teams to ensure alignment on requirements and delivery
  • Oversee milestone tracking, investment reporting, and progress updates for enterprise data initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise best practices and standards related to data capabilities and governance
  • Represent business use cases and business value throughout execution to ensure successful delivery and alignment with expected outcomes
  • Coordinate and manage execution across distributed teams supporting enterprise data initiatives
  • Support annual business planning efforts related to data strategy, capability design, and investment prioritization
  • Provide thought leadership on enterprise data ecosystems, governance, and scalable data solutions

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience within insurance, financial services, or data-focused industries in a leadership capacity
  • 8+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or technology-related roles
  • Strong experience partnering with senior business leaders and presenting to executive stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of enterprise data ecosystems, data domains, and data management practices
  • Experience working with data models, modern data platforms, and master data management solutions
  • Basic SQL knowledge and experience using business intelligence and data visualization tools
  • Strong understanding of advanced analytical models and enterprise data strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams without direct line-management authority
  • Proven ability to work independently while influencing business and technology leaders
  • Experience delivering data-driven tools, capabilities, and strategic solutions that support enterprise business objectives
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Lead the development of measurement frameworks across paid media, CRM, SEO, and other channels – including attribution, customer value analysis, segmentation, and lifecycle analytics
