Oasis Systems is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our advanced projects team in 96 CTG Detachment 2. The ideal candidate will perform detailed data analysis for a wide range of mission-critical test activities, including Air Force flight tests, network and software evaluations, datalinks analysis, and general Command, Control, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C2ISR) system assessments. You will be responsible for transforming complex, high-volume test data into actionable insights that drive system improvements and inform war-fighting capabilities.
Job Responsibility:
Design and execute detailed data analysis plans for data sourced from flight, network, software, datalinks, and C2ISR test events
Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models (e.g., classification, regression, clustering, time-series forecasting) for predictive analysis, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis
Utilize Python and its core data science libraries (such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn) for data wrangling, statistical analysis, and creating compelling visualizations
Utilize MATLAB for data analysis, modeling, and simulation
Interface with large-scale relational databases using SQL to extract, manipulate, and prepare complex datasets for analysis
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of flight test engineers, software developers, cybersecurity analysts, and military personnel to understand test objectives and deliver relevant analytical products
Generate and present clear, concise reports and interactive data visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Contribute to the automation of data analysis pipelines to improve efficiency and repeatability of analytical workflows
Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and their applications within the aerospace and defense industry
Requirements:
Master's Degree and 10 years of applicable experience
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must have an active Top Secret clearance
Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis is mandatory, including hands-on experience with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn
Proficiency with MATLAB for data analysis and modeling
Experience analyzing multiplexed data streams from flight test instrumentation, including MIL-STD-1553 bus data, PCM telemetry, and digital video
Demonstrated experience using SQL to query and manage data from relational databases
Solid understanding of fundamental statistical analysis and machine learning concepts (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, classification)
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Nice to have:
Previous experience in flight test, aviation, defense, or a similar systems testing environment is highly desirable
Experience with IRIG 106 Chapter 10 data formats
Experience analyzing data from C2ISR systems and other military datalinks
Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., PySpark, Hadoop) and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
Knowledge of Test and Evaluation (T&E) principles and practices within the Department of Defense
