Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Houston, Texas. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects involving predictive modeling, machine vision, and anomaly detection to enhance safety and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analyze structured and unstructured datasets to uncover patterns and generate actionable insights
  • Design, implement, and refine predictive models using Python-based machine learning libraries
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify business needs and align data-driven solutions with organizational goals
  • Develop and maintain efficient data workflows and pipelines, leveraging platforms like Databricks
  • Utilize data visualization tools to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Apply machine vision techniques to detect anomalies and optimize asset performance
  • Integrate sensor data, such as heat and vibration metrics, to enhance model accuracy
  • Work on diverse projects that span maintenance and risk prevention strategies
  • Participate in on-site stakeholder visits during the initial phase of the contract to ensure alignment and understanding.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Data Scientist
  • Solid background in Python and associated data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like Databricks or similar technologies (e.g., Spark, Azure)
  • Proven experience using data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their implementation in industrial or energy settings
  • Hands-on experience working with sensor data, including physical asset measurements like heat and vibration
  • Strong ability to translate business challenges into technical solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with preference given to candidates with industry experience over purely academic backgrounds.
