We are looking for a passionate, creative Data Scientist III to join the Data Science team. You will have the unique opportunity to work with massive business and social data generated by Walmart Inc.'s unparalleled online and offline commerce. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will transform complex data into actionable insights, supporting data-driven decision-making and driving business impact across Walmart's digital and physical channels. You will collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Engineers, Product Managers, and Business professionals at the intersection of analytics, big data, IT infrastructure, and business operations.
Job Responsibility
Partner strategically with product development and business teams, delivering insights and recommendations of fraud trends and patterns through effective data storytelling and visualization
Analyze high-dimensional, fast-moving real-time datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for fraud detection
Build and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key business metrics and share insights with stakeholders
Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous validation and documentation
Research and apply new analytical methods, tools, and techniques to solve complex business problems
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics or related field
Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
4 years' experience in an analytics or related field
Technical expertise in data analysis, statistical methods, and data visualization
Strong knowledge of data modeling and data engineering best practices
Proficiency in SQL and data analysis packages in Python or R
Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing tools (BigQuery, Hive, or Spark)
Bachelor's degree in a STEM or related field plus three years of related experience or Master's degree in a STEM or related field plus one year of related experience
Nice to have
Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
Data science, machine learning, optimization models
Master's degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics
Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R
Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch)
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences
Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards
Knowledge of assistive technologies and integrating digital accessibility
