Job Description

We are establishing a new Competence Center for Data & AI in Brno and Ostrava. As part of this growth, we are looking for a Data Scientist who will support international projects in the financial services domain. You will work on machine learning models that improve decision-making in areas such as risk, fraud detection, customer analytics, and regulatory compliance — with the opportunity to collaborate closely with AI engineers and domain experts.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and validate ML models for financial services (risk, fraud, customer insights, compliance)
  • Work with structured and unstructured data, ensuring model quality and interpretability
  • Cooperate with business/domain experts to understand requirements and deliver actionable solutions
  • Ensure compliance with data regulations (GDPR) and internal quality standards
  • Support model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management in collaboration with DevOps teams

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • Strong experience with Python and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Knowledge of supervised/unsupervised learning, feature engineering, and model evaluation
  • Experience working with unstructured data (text analytics, NLP) is an advantage
  • Familiarity with MLOps principles and CI/CD practices
  • English at a professional working level (C1)
  • Ability to work in an international, distributed team environment

Nice to have

  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments
  • Understanding of explainability techniques (SHAP, LIME)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP)
  • Experience with Databricks platform
  • Familiarity with graph databases or semantic technologies (not required)
