We’re looking for a Data Science & Visualisation Intern to join our team in Oxford for a 12 month fixed term internship. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of machine learning, biomedical imaging, and visualisation, helping to transform complex clinical data into compelling, real-world applications. You’ll gain hands-on experience with real-world data, cloud technologies, and advanced algorithms while contributing to meaningful healthcare innovation.
Job Responsibility:
Research and develop machine learning methods for medical image analysis
Analyse large datasets using cloud platforms (e.g. AWS)
Support development and validation of data science prototypes
Collaborate with Imaging Science, Clinical, and Product teams
Produce technical reports and algorithm documentation
Stay up to date with advancements in machine learning and imaging
Automate pipelines to generate marketing-ready medical visualisations
Work with imaging experts to ensure anatomical accuracy and correct clinical messaging
Support development of tools enabling non-technical teams to access visual assets
Help improve speed and efficiency of delivering assets for time-sensitive external meetings
Requirements:
Studying towards a STEM degree (e.g. Data Science, Bioengineering, Physics, Computer Science)
Strong interest in machine learning, medical imaging, or applied data science
Solid mathematical foundation and analytical mindset
Experience with coding (e.g. Python, MATLAB)
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively
Nice to have:
Familiar with machine learning techniques or deep learning and have exposure to medical imaging or biomedical applications
Experience with Linux/Unix environments
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP
