A large international manufacturer in London is looking for a Data Protection Manager who will be responsible for compliance with specific Data Protection Laws and implementing those regulations across the business in EMEA and APAC
Job Responsibility:
Acting as the direct point of contact with the Regulator and implementing its decisions and instructions regarding the application of the provisions of GDPR
Notifying the Regulator of Personal Data Breach incidents
Following up on regulatory documents issued by the Competent Authority related to the protection of personal data, including any amendments, and informing the relevant departments or business units to ensure compliance
Providing support and advice regarding all aspects of Personal Data protection, including contributing to developing policies and internal procedures related to Personal Data protection
Providing support and advice to those responsible for developing and operating modern technological systems to ensure compliance with the requirements of GDPR or equivalent regulations
Driving awareness activities, training and transfer of knowledge to Associates regarding Personal Data protection and compliance with provisions of the Law, Implementing Regulations and ethics of data handling
Creating a Data Privacy culture by leading Change Management activities
Leading GDPR or equivalent regulations compliance the Group
Supervising the production of required assessment artefacts e.g. Data Processing Impact Assessment (DPIA), Record of Processing Assessments (RoPA) and control reporting related to Personal Data protection requirements, documenting assessment results, and issuing necessary recommendations
Ensuring Consent is captured where required and Consent Management is in place
Ensuring Data Processing Agreements are in place where required
Ensuring Personal and Sensitive data is appropriately protected, including monitoring technology controls
Identifying violations related to Personal Data and taking corrective actions accordingly
Contributing to reviewing plans of response to Personal Data Breach incidents and ensuring that such plans are adequate and effective
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience leading or managing Data protection within a multinational organisation
In-depth knowledge of GDPR or equivalent regulations
Familiarity with risk management and data breach handling procedures
Understanding of data processing technologies and practices
Bachelor’s Degree
Ideally also a Data Protection Qualification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, CDPO)
