Job Description:

We’re looking for a Data Product Engineer to help us turn data into one of Karat’s most powerful product advantages. This is a high-impact, highly cross-functional role for someone who thinks like a product builder but operates deep in the data stack. You’ll own the systems that transform raw data into trusted models, internal insights, and customer-facing experiences that drive real business outcomes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Build the data foundation
  • Productize data internally
  • Ship customer-facing data experiences
  • Leverage AI and automation

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or data-heavy product roles
  • Exceptional SQL skills and strong data modeling fundamentals
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines (dbt, Airflow, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake or modern cloud warehouses
  • Strong Python (or similar) for data workflows and automation
  • Experience with BI tools (Sigma, Looker, Mode, etc.) and semantic layers
  • Strong product intuition — you care about usability, clarity, and impact
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with product, ops, risk, and finance
  • High ownership mindset and bias toward shipping

Nice to have:

  • Experience building customer-facing analytics or data products
  • FinTech or payments experience
  • Experience with reverse ETL or operational analytics
  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices and UX principles
  • Experience building AI/LLM-powered data workflows
