Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for you to take a leadership role within the new service operations business area as a Data Platform Manager leading a team of platform administrators, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure data platform solutions.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DBAs to achieve organizational objectives
  • Oversee workload distribution, performance evaluations, and professional development
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture
  • Oversee the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle data platforms (on-premises and cloud environments)
  • Ensure platform security, availability, and performance optimization
  • Plan and execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Implement and manage Oracle data platform solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Lead cloud migration initiatives, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance
  • Leverage cloud-native tools for monitoring and automation
  • Integrate DevOps practices into data platform management processes
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks using CI/CD pipelines and configuration management tools

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as an oracle platform administrator
  • 3+ years acting as a leader utilizing strong communication skills to motivate and manage technical teams in a fast paced environment
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle architecture in order to tune performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Expertise in Oracle platform solutions in cloud environments (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.)
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and automation tools
  • Full professional fluency in English and Italian

Nice to have

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or higher
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS Certified Database Specialty, Azure Database Administrator Associate)
  • DevOps certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer)
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field
  • German or Italian language skills
  • Experience managing 24x7 operations and regulated environments (e.g., banking or financial services)
