Our client, a large and complex public sector organization based in Wellington, is seeking a highly skilled Data Platform Engineer for an initial 12-month fixed-term contract (through to July 2027 - $125,926 to $156,377). You will be responsible for the overall technical support, enhancement, and maintenance of the cloud environment. You will provide technical leadership for large-scale data initiatives, collaborating closely with business stakeholders, developers, and external vendors to ensure alignment with technical governance, security, and financial processes.

Requirements
4+ year's experience in data platform or data engineering roles
Strong experience with data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, SQL Server, or similar
Familiarity with SQL and Python
Significant experience as a Data, Platform, Site Reliability, or DevOps Engineer within complex cloud environments (AZURE)
Strong database or data engineering expertise in platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, SQL Server, or MongoDB
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions) and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep)
Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools, specifically Power BI, Tableau, or SAP Analytics Cloud
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage, advise, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
