Job Description:

Join us at Barclays as a Data Modeller, where you'll responsible be for owning and evolving conceptual, logical and physical data models that power Foundational / Business / Consumer Data Products. Job Responsibility:

  • Design, implement, and maintain conceptual, Logical and Physical data models that meet business data/process and technology requirements
  • Analysis and documentation of business requirements to translate them into data models aligned with organisational goals
  • Development and maintenance of data dictionaries and glossaries to define data elements and their usage
  • Analysis and monitoring of data usage patterns to identify opportunities for data optimisation and improvement
  • Strategic architecture definition and product selection
  • Production of logical designs in relevant subject area
  • Implementation of architectures and Identification, ownership and resolution of design related issues
  • Definition and documentation of data architectures standards, principles and strategies

Requirements:

  • Ability to lead conceptual/logical modelling, and partner with engineering on physical design
  • Capability to translate models into testable, engineering-ready deliverables with high-quality source-to-target mappings
  • Ample command of standards (naming/definitions/domains) plus lineage, take care of, CDE tagging, traceability and control evidence, producing artefacts that stand up to audit/regulatory scrutiny
  • Ability to work within canonical patterns, manage change control/versioning, and drive cross-team alignment
  • Exposure to modern cloud data platforms & delivery patterns
  • Experience working within federated or product‑aligned data operating models
