Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Migration Program / Project Manager to join the Professional Services team of one of our global clients, a worldwide leader in innovative IT and networking technologies. In this role, you will be the primary delivery lead for complex, enterprise-scale data migration initiatives, acting as the face of the company to their customers while orchestrating cross-functional teams to deliver successful, low-risk migrations. This position requires deep end-to-end ownership of data migration programs, spanning discovery, data profiling, mapping, transformation, validation, cutover, and post-migration stabilization. You will lead initiatives involving legacy system migration, platform consolidation, and system integration, while ensuring data integrity, business continuity, and customer confidence.

Job Responsibility

  • Own and drive end-to-end delivery of customer data migration programs, from initial assessment through go-live and post-migration support, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met
  • Develop comprehensive data migration strategies and execution plans, including migration approach, sequencing, tooling assumptions, and rollback strategies
  • Lead migration initiatives involving legacy-to-target system transitions, platform upgrades, system consolidations, and cloud migrations
  • Establish and maintain migration governance frameworks, including RAID logs, dependency tracking, data ownership models, and decision forums
  • Proactively identify and manage data-related risks such as data quality issues, transformation defects, cutover failures, security/compliance concerns, and business disruption
  • Oversee cutover planning and execution, including rehearsal migrations, downtime coordination, validation checkpoints, and business readiness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in business management, communications, engineering or related field(s)
  • Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience, preferably in professional services
  • PMP required (MBA or extensive experience in lieu of PMP)
  • Excellent ability to interpret commercial documents and formulate plans accordingly
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong sense of personal accountability
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, and experience interacting with both business and IT executive level personnel
  • Strong competency of interpersonal skills, team leadership, business acumen, relationship building and conflict management
  • Strong ability to understand technical requirements and terminology to manage technical teams accordingly
  • Experience with Agile methodology, Scrum framework and SDLC process
  • Proficiency with Jira, MS Project, SharePoint and Excel
  • Experience within a software company and working with tier 1 Telco’s
  • Ability and willingness to learn and incorporate new concepts and technologies
  • Ability/flexibility to work across multiple time zones
  • Ability to travel occasionally
