Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Migration Consultant to join our team in Nieuwegein, Netherlands. As a Data Migration Consultant, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients with their digital transformation journey by ensuring smooth and accurate data migration processes. You’ll be part of a major name in the tech world, known for its consulting, digital services, and software development. Within the Data area, we help companies stay agile during transitions by making data and technology a key part of both daily operations and strategic decision-making.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and implement data migration strategies for clients undergoing digital transformation
  • Analyse source systems and develop comprehensive data mapping plans
  • Create and execute data conversion rules, selections, and controls
  • Ensure data integrity and completeness throughout the migration process
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data migration with overall project goals
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data migration processes and procedures
  • Provide expert advice on data migration best practices and potential challenges
  • Monitor and report on the progress of data migration projects
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data migration issues as they arise
  • Conduct post-migration validation to ensure successful deployment of new systems

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Database Administrator, Data Engineer, or Software Engineer
  • Strong affinity for data, data structures, and data mapping
  • Proven knowledge and experience with data modelling and relational algebra
  • Excellent SQL skills and experience
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python
  • Familiarity with Microsoft cloud stack is advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience in data migration projects
  • Strong understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
  • Knowledge of data quality and data governance principles
  • Analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Practical problem-solving attitude
  • Fluency in English
  • knowledge of Dutch and/or French is highly desirable
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant data migration or database certifications are a plus
