As a Data Migration Engineer at Sopra Steria, you will play a key role in helping our clients successfully transition their data as part of digital transformation projects. You will design, implement, and validate data migration processes that ensure data from source systems is accurately converted, cleansed, and loaded into target systems. Acting as a bridge between business and IT, you will translate business requirements into technical data migration solutions, define transformation rules, and ensure data quality, completeness, and compliance. Your work will enable clients to deploy new systems confidently, filled with accurate and reliable data, while contributing to modern, cloud-based data platforms. You will work in collaborative, agile teams where your expertise helps optimize migration workflows, streamline data pipelines, and implement automation and governance standards. Job Responsibility:
Design, implement, and validate data migration processes that ensure data from source systems is accurately converted, cleansed, and loaded into target systems
Translate business requirements into technical data migration solutions, define transformation rules, and ensure data quality, completeness, and compliance
Work in collaborative, agile teams to help optimize migration workflows, streamline data pipelines, and implement automation and governance standards
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Database Administrator, or Data Migration Specialist
Hands-on experience with data migration, ETL workflows, and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake)
Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases
experience with data modeling concepts (Kimball, Snowflake, SCD, Data Vault)
Programming experience in Python, PySpark, or similar languages for data transformation and automation
Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a structured, solution-oriented approach
Fluency in English
Nice to have:
Experience with using and implementing AI in your and the client’s workflow
Knowledge and experience working with SAS data systems
Knowledge of Dutch and/or French
