As a member of the Data Services Team, you will use technical knowledge and analytical skill to contribute to audits of state agencies and programs by acquiring and verifying relevant data.
Job Responsibility:
Obtain data requested by auditors and evaluators accurately and in a timely manner
Obtain and validate large complex sets of data from various sources, and efficiently identify, reconcile, understand, and resolve any issues
Utilize critical-thinking skills to support functional analysis of data
Create and maintain clear and accurate documentation of data sources, extraction methods and transformation processes
Apply data-querying techniques to large, unstructured data sets
Consider and research new tools and methods to accomplish objectives to receive and analyze data
Requirements:
Able to maintain strict nonpartisanship
At least five years of recent professional experience with government data extraction, cleansing, and transformation
At least five years of professional experience using advanced features of software packages, such as STATA, R, Microsoft Excel/Access, ACL, Power BI, ArcGIS
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, data science, statistics, or a related field
Nice to have:
Experience querying data using applications such as SQL Server, Oracle, PeopleSoft and Workday
Solid knowledge of database structures and software, as well as statistical and data mining software
Experience transforming government data to a usable format
Ability to multi-task and advance multiple projects simultaneously
Self-motivated to learn and meet deadlines
Successful in translating technical information to a non-technical audience
Able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
Able to develop positive working relationships with teammates and other colleagues
Able to self-reflect and respond to feedback in a positive and constructive manner
