As the Data Governance & Privacy Manager, you will be a vital contributor to our responsible data and AI strategy. Working closely with senior leaders, you will help implement and maintain the critical frameworks that allow for ambitious innovation while upholding the highest ethical standards and robust privacy protections. Job Responsibility

  • Implement and maintain Nine's AI and Data Governance frameworks
  • Support the management of our key data assets, ensuring their quality and integrity are fit for purpose
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new projects, ensuring we meet our obligations under the Privacy Act and the APPs
  • Help identify and mitigate risks associated with data privacy and the responsible use of AI
  • Partner with teams across the business to embed a 'Privacy-by-Design' culture and contribute to training programs

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in data privacy, data governance, or technology risk
  • A strong, practical understanding of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)
  • Hands-on experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)
  • An understanding of data management principles, including data quality and lifecycle management
  • A solid grasp of AI concepts (like machine learning and generative AI) and their associated privacy challenges
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit, with the ability to translate complex ideas into practical advice

Nice to have

  • Experience working within the media, entertainment, advertising, or technology industries
  • Familiarity with data governance rolls and cloud platforms (e.g. Google Cloud Platform)
  • Familiarity with emerging AI governance, safety, or ethics frameworks
  • Relevant industry certifications (CIPM, CIPT, CIPP/E, AIGP)
