Job Description:

This role is strategically important and must form excellent working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across business lines.

Job Responsibility:

  • Drive development, deployment and ongoing improvements to data management standards, policies, and processes, in order to enhance the quality, completeness and availability of the organization’s data
  • Work with the Data Governance Council and Data Stewards across business units to ensure compliance with related standards, policies, roles and responsibilities
  • Oversee and orchestrate Data Quality Management processes across the group
  • Contribute to the delivery, management and maintenance of Data Lineage models and Enterprise Data Catalogue
  • Help drive greater understanding and appreciation of best practice in data management and usage across the organization through structured training and other activities
  • Assisting with the mobilization and management of the Enterprise Data Stewardship community
  • Contribute to the evolution of client’s enterprise messaging models and schemas and provide guidance to development teams on use of schemas
  • Help drive improvements in the maturity of the firm’s data via master data management initiatives

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of current best data management & governance frameworks, practices & tooling
  • Familiar with current data modelling techniques, including conceptual, logical and physical data models
  • Familiar with financial messaging protocols e.g. FIX, FpML, etc.
  • Understand the fundamentals of data and analytics processes and procedures, with a strong understanding of complex data lineage in databases, schemas, tables, columns
  • 2+ years hands on experience as a data (governance) analyst or business analyst with a specific focus on data – ideally working within an Agile delivery environment
  • 2+ years hands on experience working with a business data catalogue, such as Colibra, Informatica, Alation etc.
  • Strong understanding – ideally with certification – and practical experience with one or more data management frameworks – e.g. DAMA DCAM, CDMC etc.
  • Previous experience implementing Data Management & Governance processes and standards into strategic projects and delivering enterprise Data Quality initiatives
  • Strong analytical and data governance skills
  • Financial markets background – ideally with practical experience working with at least 1 asset class e.g. equities, fixed income etc.
  • Competent in SQL, ideally with some level of coding/scripting skills such as Python etc.
  • Ability to take ownership of problems and requests as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced team
  • Confident communicator with experience in working closely with stakeholders of all levels including the ability to advise, train and support
  • Ability to use own initiative, with strong personal organisation skills to work to tight deadlines

Nice to have:

  • Good understanding of wholesale Financial Services, across one or more asset classes e.g. Interest Rate Derivatives, Commodities, Commodity Derivatives, Bonds, Credit, Equities etc.
  • Good understanding of all general and Financial Services specific legislation and regulation pertaining to data including GDPR, MiFID, REMITetc.
  • Good knowledge of Cloud Data Architectures E.g. Azure data Factory, AWS lake Formation etc.
