A Data Governance Analyst in financial services is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and operating a structured data governance framework that ensures data quality, consistency, compliance, and alignment between business and technical domains
Job Responsibility:
Define and maintain Data Governance policies, standards, and processes
Establish and operate a governance framework (Glossary, Data Quality, RDM, Lineage)
Align data definitions and standards with business and technical stakeholders
Maintain business glossary, data dictionary, data quality rules, and reference data
Monitor compliance and data quality KPIs
support governance forums
Provide guidance and training to stakeholders
Support data-related initiatives across the organization
Requirements:
2–3 years experience as Data Governance Analyst within financial services projects
2–3 years proven business knowledge in financial services / banking
Experience in Data Governance or Data Management, ideally in financial services
Strong understanding of data governance concepts (Glossary, DQ, RDM, Lineage)
Ability to translate business requirements into governance standards
Hands-on experience querying databases (SQL or similar)
Strong communication skills
ability to work independently in long-term engagements
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Nice to have:
Experience with Data Governance platforms (e.g. Ataccama)
Experience with reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau)
