We are looking for a detail-focused Data Entry Clerk to support a contract assignment in California. In this in-person role, you will help organize and label insurance data by reviewing records and entering structured information with a high level of accuracy. This contract position is well suited for someone who can work carefully, follow defined guidelines, and maintain consistency across a high volume of records.
Job Responsibility:
Review insurance-related business records and enter structured data into spreadsheets according to established labeling standards
Compare information across internal platforms, quoting tools, and stored documents to confirm record details before updating entries
Categorize key data points such as business type, coverage details, quote progress, carrier involvement, pricing, and final sales outcomes
Document unclear or incomplete information with precise notes and escalate exceptions for review rather than making assumptions
Maintain a dependable daily workflow by processing a steady volume of records while preserving data quality and accuracy
Apply updated instructions and taxonomy changes throughout the project to ensure all entries remain aligned with current guidelines
Track supporting documentation, service-related complexities, and revenue-related information within the required data fields
Contribute to a clean and reliable dataset that supports reporting, operational review, and business decision-making
Requirements:
Demonstrated accuracy and strong attention to detail in data entry or record review work
Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets, including the ability to work efficiently within structured spreadsheets
Clear written English skills for recording notes, identifying discrepancies, and flagging issues
Ability to follow detailed instructions and apply standardized rules consistently across repetitive tasks
Strong organizational skills with a dependable and methodical approach to daily work
Comfort handling high-volume, repetitive assignments without losing focus on quality
Willingness to ask questions and escalate ambiguous cases when information cannot be confirmed
Experience in insurance, finance, operations, data annotation, or document review is helpful but not required
