We are looking for a detail-focused Data Entry Clerk to support administrative and records management activities for a trade association in Whitestone, New York. This Contract position is ideal for someone who works accurately with high volumes of information and is comfortable using computer-based systems throughout the day. The person in this role will help maintain organized data, update records promptly, and contribute to smooth day-to-day office operations.
Job Responsibility:
Enter numeric and text-based information into computer systems with a strong focus on speed and accuracy
Review source documents carefully and update records to ensure information is complete, current, and properly formatted
Verify data for errors, inconsistencies, or missing details before finalizing entries
Maintain organized digital files and support the accurate tracking of documents and database records
Process routine data updates and perform corrections when discrepancies are identified
Use typing and general computer skills to manage repetitive entry tasks efficiently and consistently
Follow established procedures for handling confidential information and maintaining data integrity
Requirements:
Previous experience in data entry, clerical support, or a similar administrative role
Strong typing ability with accuracy in entering both numeric and written information
Comfort working with computer-based data entry systems and standard office software
Ability to identify mistakes quickly and correct records with close attention to detail
Good organizational skills and the ability to manage repetitive tasks while meeting deadlines
